The Reserved Audacious Cakery at Everton Park

I wanted to try the cake at The Audacious Cakery so after our lunch at Happy3 Bites Cafe, we walked over to get some cakes.

The interior of the cafe has a warm lighting. The furniture are white, very much a vintage design.

Over the cake counter, there are macaroons, cupcakes and cakes. My mom wanted the Strawberry Shortcake while I can’t decide on what I wanted so I asked the staff what’s the specialties in The Audacious Cakery. He answered, depends. Wow, what a diplomatic politically correct answer. But he followed up with a question, what my preference was. That’s help. With that he started with his recommendation and provided description of his recommendation. That was great service.

The staff introduced the new flavour, Rocky Road. It has both peanut and marshmallow, both ingredients I don’t fancy so Rocky Road is out.

Other food they serve in The Audacious Cakery were sandwiches, bread and coffee & tea.

As we just had lunch at Happy3 Bites, I asked for takeaway. I ordered a Zacharie (passionfruit cheese cake), Strawberry Shortcake and a Lemon Meringue. The staff asked if my journey was going to be long as they provide ice pack. It is advisable to put the ice pack should the journey be more than 40 minutes.

There were two interesting quotes on the bag.

Now, the most important question, the taste of the cake. The cakes at The Audacious Cakery are mainly mousse cake so if mousse cakes are not your cup of tea then you probably won’t like Audacious Cakery. But they have other option like the cupcakes.

The Strawberry Shortcake only has subtle sweetness. The taste is very light. I didn’t like their Strawberry Shortcake. When it comes to Strawberry Shortcake, it has to be of certain image. It has to be with vanilla sponge sandwiched with vanilla fresh cream and fresh strawberry, like what Flor and Glace Pastisserie are baking.

I love both the Zacharie, a passionfruit cheese cake. The Zacharie is a light cheese cake with passionfruit infused into the cheese mousse. It has both sour and sweet taste. My mom like it too.

The Lemon Meringue is more sour than the Zacharie. The tart is lightly buttery. The texture is like biscuit. It goes very well with the lemon jam-like stuffing. My mom didn’t like it as she find it too sour. For those who can’t tolerate sourness, this may be out.

The taste of the cake is light so for those who do not like strong heavy tasting cake, The Audacious is a good choice.
