Warm-Serviced Gyoza King at Orchid Hotel, Singapore

Gyoza King is part of the Keisuke restaurant with famous and popular ramen. It is at Orchid Hotel at Tanjong Pagar area. Within the area, Keisuke has a total of three restaurants. Two other are selling ramen; one at Orchid Hotel, the other at 100am shopping mall.

In Tanjong Pagar, it is slowly booming into a small Japanese town. There are dozens of Japanese restaurants in the area.

Gyoza King offers set meal for diner. Diner can also choose al la carte as an alternative. They have put together a poster pasted outside the shop to inform diners on how to order the set meal.

The order sheet is in two languages; one side for English, the other for Japanese.

When I entered the restaurant, what I was drawn to the busy open kitchen. Every helpers in the kitchen seems well trained and playing their own part like a well rehearsed orchestra and their action were swift in order to bring the diners’ order to the table as soon as possible.

The seats in indoors are around the counter which can seat about sixteen (I counted). There are about two tables outdoor.

On the table, there are appetisers, cabbage pickle and bean sprouts for self service. There are also vinegar, soya sauce and chilli oil for diner to customise their own gyoza sauce.

There are lots of food in the set meal. I couldn’t finish the side dishes and I hardly touch the rice and soup. I am keen on the gyoza so I started with the gyoza. I ordered the Pork Gyoza. There are chicken and prawn to choose from as well. The gyoza is great. The skin is thin and filling is full and the meat is juicy and flavourful with seasoning. The side dishes were prepared only when you placed your order. It is equally delicious. I have a very filling and satisfying lunch.
