The Clan Restaurant @ Bukit Pasoh Road – Part 1

I have been to The Clan a few times. This time was for my Birthday celebration.

The Clan has both A La Carte and Set Menu to choose from. I have always go for the Set Menu. The Clan serves both lunch and dinner. The Clan is a fine dinning restaurant that offers more affordable set menu as compared to its competitor within the same area.

For the Set Menu, lunch is a 5-course set at $49.80++ while dinner is the 6-course set priced at $69.80++. The different is the cold dish which is absent from the lunch set.

The starter is always the Chef Starter which consist of three items. I only remember the scallop which is shown on the left. The remaining two other, I can’t remember what they are. The server will let you know the sequence of eating them as you are recommended to eat the lightest in taste to the strongest in taste. So that you can savour the taste of every bite. Flavourful is the word I used to describe the starter.

The beef carpaccio is one of their highly recommended dish.

The razor clam was fresh and tasty. A pity that there wasn’t any surprise element in the razor clam dish, pretty much like how other restaurant does it.

I didn’t quite like the Ginseng Chicken soup as I never like chinese herbal soup. My aunt tried and she loved it as she felt the taste of ginseng was not too strong but she could still taste the ginseng, it was kind of just right in amount of ginseng.

The pasta was al dente. The amount of lobster was generous.

The chocolate cake was rich. It was very well made.

Dessert - Chocolate Royaltine Cake

And the complimentary birthday cake from The Clan.

I will add the other dishes that we tried in The Clan in another post. The conclusion, though there were some dishes that did not quite meet our expectation but after all, they were still above average. We enjoyed the dinner very much.

You can either call the restaurant or go online.
