Ciel Patisserie In Hougang, Singapore, A Rose Among The Thorns

Ciel Patisserie is located at the ground floor of a (HDB) block of flat. It is the only modern decorated shop among the row of shops. You won’t missed it as it stand outs, you will easily identify the patisserie.

The patisserie looks sort of simple, nothing fanciful.

On contrast, the cakes were lovely, colourful and were placed carefully in rows, considering the colours combination and shapes.

After much enquiries and templation, I decided to get a tiramisu, and two of Ciel Patisserie’s best seller, the Strawberry Shortcakes and Ginger Creme Brulee Tart.

The vanilla sponge used in the Strawberry Shortcake was not only soft but was moist as well. It is lightly sweetish so for those who have a sweet sweet tooth, you may want to give this a missed. In addition, it has a thick layer of whipped cream.

Comparing the Ginger Creme Brulee Tart and the Strawberry Shortcake, the Ginger Creme Brulee Tart has a stronger taste. The ginger flavour is pretty strong and it does not have much of the ginger spiciness. It is creamy and it is sweeter than the Strawberry Shortcake. My sister didn’t like it but my mom enjoyed it very much as she loves ginger. Dessert lovers, especially those who like creme brulee and who also like ginger, this is a must try.

We didn’t try the Tiramisu as we reserved it for my brother.

The service was excellent as I find the service crew knows the characteristics of the cakes very well, able to give great advice. The cakes are not only ‘pretty’ but yummy too.
