Tian Kee & Co At Dakota Crescent, An Old-School Cafe, Nostalgic

Old-school fans, you are in luck. Tian Kee & Co at Dakota Crescent has it everything old-school, from the name of the cafe, to the decor, furnitures, food and cutlery are all so old-school. It is so old school till there is no air-condition installed.

The owner of the cafe has retained the name of the provision shop that used to be at the unit, Tian Kee & Co. It has also retained many features left behind by the provision shop such as the signboard, shutter, the door and many more. Go down and check it out. Very cool.

Tian Kee & Co serves cafe styled coffee and some western pastries, muffins and cakes. There is an old school cake, the Kaya Fudge Cake. I didn’t order that as they recommended TCS, a Toffee Caramel Salted Cheesecake. I was comtemplating on whether to order a coffee and I succumbed to the temptation.

See that the drink and food were served in such old school cutlery. I remember that similar ones were used by my maternal grandma.

The TCS was yummy. It has a good balance of toffee, cheese and very slightly salted and has a chocolate cake crumble as base. I thought such a combi would be too rich but it wasn’t. It was pretty light. That was good. While the coffee was a little disappointing. It was pretty flat in taste. It is slightly acidity with a slightly lighter body. They served the coffee with an old school biscuit too. Even this was so old school.

They were so thoughtful, offerring old school snack for patrons. Look, those were what I took away. Lol.

It was nostalgic, like travelling back in time, mesmerizing the old-school ornaments and reminiscing the good old days. It was a nice feel, relaxed, destressed time spent.
