As a Korean colleague was coming along with us for lunch so we chose to go to a Korean Restaurant nearby the office, Kim Mi Korean Restaurant (东大门韩国料理)
The restaurant serves both BBQ and other Korean dishes. We were debating whether should we have BBQ or not. We didn’t realize that there were both BBQ and non-BBQ set menu served within the four options. We chose Set A, B and D. Set D was the one with non-BBQ set. In the end, the so called “mistake” turned out to satisfy all.
The set consists of the small dishes as well. We like them all.
In addition, there was cabbage soup too.
Set A and B were the BBQ set. In Set A, there were beef, chicken, fish, squid and golden mushroom …
… while Set B consisted of beef steak, chicken chop, chicken wings, squid and chicken sausages.
Since there were two grill, two colleagues seated at both end helped in grilling the meat. A big thank you to them. Interestingly, both adopted a different strategy. One of them placed all the meat at at one go on the grill, the other chose to grill one type of meat each time. End results were the same, all the meat were cooked and consumed. LOL.
The Hot Plate Beef was accompanied with the fermented soy sauce and lettuce. Wrapped the grilled beef with the fermented soy sauce in the lettuce. Personally, I find that his dish is little bland and the beef was a little tough.
The Korean Pancake was awesome. As it was a pretty thick pancake, about 1.5 cm thick, it has a good soft texture with lots of spring onions and seafood resulted in a flavourful pancake.
Finally the Bibimbap, it was a little bland. Our Korean colleague find that the spiciness was not enough.
There were some good dishes and some misses. Generally, it was still considered above average.
