The Next Station is a dessert shop that serve what I called the Western dessert. If you are looking for Red Bean Soup, Beancurd, Sesame Paste; this is not the place.
When we were there on a weekday, after dinner at about 8 pm, there was a queue, ahead of us there were three groups. It wasn’t a long wait though. It’s a pretty cool shop.
The Next Station serves desserts like the nougat, brulee, waffles and there was this very dessert which I saw it for the first time here which they called Foam, sounded so chemical. Nevertheless, this attracted our attention.
We ordered the Green Tea Foam. It has Red Bean Panna Cotta at the bottom and on top of the panna cotta, it was a layer of strawberry jelly. Next there was Wheat Germ Meringue and it was topped with a scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream and the Green Tea Foam. Two of us, include myself, didn’t like the Foam, only one enjoy it. It has a good amount of Green Tea flavour, but I didn’t like the texture.
Another dessert we ordered was the Chocolate Molten Cake served with Cookies & Cream Ice Cream. It would be infused with a small amount of alcohol, about 3 ml, I think. You can choose from Rum, Grand Manier and Baileys. I don’t like Baileys, so I was deciding between Rum and Grand Manier. I chose Rum, a safer option, thinking to myself.
When you squeeze the alcohol into the cake, remember, not to release the squeeze. Hold onto the squeeze and withdrew the pipette. Otherwise, by now, the alcohol have mixed with the chocolate, will be sucked back into the pipette.
The Chocolate Lave flowing out from the centre of the cake was so enticing. We can’t wait to eat it. The Lava cake was good but wasn’t the best I have tried so far.
