I have been wanting to pay Knockbox Coffee Company a visit for quite some time. Finally, I found the time and opportunity to do so.
It is a cafe situated, what I would call, at the edge of Mongkok. It is along the stretch with The Next Station Dessert as neighbour. I was there in an afternoon on a weekday. The cafe was reasonably occupied with regular traffic of customers filling the cafe.
Knockbox is a cafe with a focus on coffee and everything relating to coffee is back to basic. There are numerous specialty beans for your option but they are not having my favourite the Sumatra Mandheling Coffee Bean. I choose Colombia at the end.
The barista, first select some fine Colombia for grinding and then perform hand-dripping through a filter. Finally the end product is a cup of black hand-dripped coffee, shown in the below photo.
I find that Colombia is high acidity, which is not something I prefer. Even from the aroma of the ground beans, I could spell the high acidity. The Colombia coffee has a pretty full body with some fruity and floral hint.
If you are a serious coffee drinker. I would strongly recommend Knockbox. The barista has very good knowledge of the characteristics of various coffee beans and could recommend one that you enjoy. I will certainly return to Knockbox.
