The Flying Pan Restaurant At Wan Chai, Opens 24 hours Daily

Flying Pan is voted for the Best Restaurant for Solo Dining Hong Kong, Best Restaurant for Breakfast Hong Kong and Best Restaurant for Brunch. It has two outlets in Hong Kong. One in Central and the other at Wan Chai, is the one I went. It is perched on the third level.

The building is at the edge of Lockhart Road and Luard Road with the entrance facing Lockhart Road. Once you exit the lift, you should be seeing a blue door, open the door and enter.

When I entered, I feel the restaurant so American, like those restaurants you will find along the highway. That’s my feel. A little retro and a little vintage.

The restaurant serves mainly all day breakfast items and there were some other menu like the sandwiches, burgers and among others.

I ordered the Egg Norwegian. I wanted to see how they fare in the Egg Benedicts series. And of course, not forgetting my favourite coffee, the cappuccino.

The Egg Benedicts series comes as an Ala Carte or Set. If you order only the Ala Carte like me, you get only the poached eggs with the muffin drizzled with generous amount of Hollandaise Sauce. If you order the Set Meal, you get to choose two sides and a drink as well.

I like the Egg Norwegian. The muffin is soft and fluffy with great smoked salmon. The Hollandaise sauce is not the very creamy and not the very sourish one, more of the lighter kind. On the whole, it has a good balance, nevertheless.

The coffee is decent though not great, still acceptable.

Overall, quite a nice cafe with a vintage vibes. And they have provide free WiFi too.
