When a chapter closes another begins. This is very true for Oz Specialty when they closed their door on 12 Oct and now a new beginning at all new Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters.
Re-started on 18 October, having a soft launched, I can’t wait but went down on the day itself.
Some similarities between Oz Specialty and Pacamara Boutique existed; both are whitish in colour theme. But the feel of both cafe are some what different. As the new Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roaster located at a corner shop along the row of shop houses at Upper Thomson Road is many times more than the size of Oz Specialty, though you don’t get the homely feel but what you get is the hip, modern vibes. Nevertheless, it is a cosy hangout cafe.
Pacamara Boutique cafe has an all new menu to accompany the new cafe. You won’t find the regular latte, flat white or cappuccino, instead, either white, black or iced coffee. You no longer find the Belgian Liege Waffle on the menu too.
The coffee is still ever good as before. It is smooth, rounded, low acidity, medium aroma with riped fruits, caramel, nutty, chocolate milk hint.
I actually was hoping that they have cakes or pastries but since there was none, I opted for a Red Velvet Pancake instead. Three thin slices of reddish coloured sweetish soft pancake that are a little dense were stacked together and a generous amount of sourish mascarpone cheese poured on the top with sourish fruits and chopped almond to give the extra crunch. It was only towards the end that I tasted the red velvet flavour and personally, I find the entire creation a little too sour.
Personally, I like the ambience and the coffee. I am sure I will return to try out other food on its menu.
