Haji Lane is already very hip and now they have a hippy cafe & bar named the Toothless Bear Cafe & Bar.
It has mainly Al Fresco dining. Nice casual, people watching while enjoying food and drinks along the hippy street.
You will find either Set Lunch Menu or Ala Carte Menu. I wasn’t in the mood for pasta or sandwiches so went with the Ala Carte. Beside food, the main highlight, which I feel about Toothless Bear is the alcohol drinks.
I have the Poulet Roti, thought it would be Roasted Chicken but turned out to be deep fried. It tasted like it was marinated with simple ingredients such as dark and light soy sauce with probably a little oyster sauce too. The salad is awesome. I like the dressing. What I like most is the mayonnaise sauce and the chilli sauce. This is the best combination for my fries.
The coffee could have been better. It was light body, low acidity with low aroma. I couldn’t really taste the flavour note due to the cocoa dusting. Somehow, I thought I tasted some black tea hint.
Toothless Bear Cafe & Bar is an absolutely cool place to be in for drinks rather than food. Food is decent but not great. It is a good alternative, if you want to find something new, or rather something else from your usual.
