Boufe Boutique Cafe At Phoenix Park, Tanglin Road

Boufe Boutique Cafe is situated within the premise of Phoenix Park at Block 308. Before, it was only Spruce. I like the exterior look of the cafe, it look so much like during the British colony days kind of look. The door is a slide one instead. When I enter, it seems all white to me, quite soothing look. There is also a boutique on the cafe left as you enter.

The cafe has two main menu; one for Brunch and one for dinner. You will find three other pages, beverage, snack or sides and finally cakes and pastries.

I always prefer to select my cakes and pastries over the display counter. I like the visual impact. There are quite a good selection of desserts, from macaroons of almost 10 types to tarts to cakes.

For main, I selected the Brioche French Toast. The plating was lovely with berries surrounded the big slice of Brioche and a generous slab of cream. The French Toast has a custard like taste which I enjoyed. But some part of the Brioche was well soaked with the custard like mixed and it resulted a soggy bread.

I was planning to have the Lemon Tart initially but soon a change of mind as I was recommended the Chocolate Tart which sounded better and no regret. It is a dark chocolate tart with the sourish raspberry, it was a great balance of taste.

The coffee was pretty good. A medium acidity and body with some nutty and fruity hint. I enjoyed the coffee pretty much.

As the dessert was too tempting so I took away 2 Macaroon, a Lemon (yellow in colour) and a Salted Caramel), with an intention of sharing with my Mom, one each, but I finished them before they could reach home. Sorry Mom, this time nothing to share with you. ūüėõ Luckily, my Mom won’t be reading my post. Phew!! Lol!!

As Phoenix Park is considerably huge with lots of block so if you aren’t familiar with the area, it may not be that easy to find. So here are¬†some directions. Entered via the main entrance, for the vehicles and keep to your left, and you will spot sort of a pedestrian lane, just keep following. You will see Avondale Grammar School on your right first and then Block 306 right in front of you, keep following the track and soon you will see Boufe Boutique Cafe on your left. A better option is to request for the Buggy service to Block 308 from the security at the main entrance. Hope this helps. Enjoy cafe hopping!!
