FOC Spanish Restaurant At Hong Kong Street Singapore, Superb

I have been wanting to try FOC Spanish Restaurant but didn’t find the right company till recently. In fact, my friend and I wanted to go down on Wednesday but FOC was fully booked due to a special menu they were having on that day. Luckily my friend insisted on trying so instead of changing venue, we postponed our meetup to the next day. Definitely a wise decision.

My friend always love to order a Latte, either iced or hot before a meal. Without failed, she ordered an Iced Latte. She didn’t find the Latte good. But that didn’t dampen her spirit for the coming dishes.

Usually, we will go for seafood dishes but she has dietary restriction for now. The first tapas served was the Ham Croquette. It was extremely flavourful. We enjoyed it.

The next Tapas served was the Deep Fried Potato with Garlic Mayonnaise and Spicy Sauce (Patata bravas). The potato aroma was strong and the sauces were well compliment with the potato. It was superb.

I was enticed by the Seafood Paella, can’t help but to order it though my friend will have to abstinent for now. The rice was full of seafood flavour. They have chopped up the squid to tiny pieces, to the size of the rice and added to the rice. Absolutely awesome. The garlic mayonnaise enhanced the paella.

We ordered a beef steak as well but as I was too busy enjoying the Paella, I forgot to take a photo. It is certainly delish, tender beef.

Finally, dessert time. We decided to have the Apple Pie (Tarta Tatin). The apple puree with some apple dices was shaped into an apple , topped onto a thin buttery pastry, paired with a creamy vanilla ice cream with some oreo like biscuit chip by the surrounding. Extremely marvellous.

Before the end of our meal, while we were having our dessert, we were discussing when to come back to have more dose of the food. LOL.

Milagro Spanish Restaurant In Orchard Central

My ex-colleague asked me out for a dinner at Milagro Spanish Restaurant at Orchard Central as she purchased a Groupon. And of course I would accept the invitation without any hesitation.

We ordered a total of 4 Tapas and 2 desserts. Surprsingly, we were filled to the brim at the end of the dinner.

Champignon Mushrooms al Ajillo (Spicy)
Champignon Mushrooms al Ajillo (Spicy)

The first Tapas served was the Mushrooms. There was a choice of Spicy or Non-Spicy. We chose Spicy but I didn’t find it spicy at all. It has mainly the natural mushroom taste with lightly herb flavour.

Similar to the mushroom, it was in its natural goodness. Not much of seasoning in the Tapas.

Buffalo Wings with Valdeón Cheese

Follwed by the Buffalo Wings. There was a choice of with or without the cheese. We choose the one with Cheese. The cheese dip is made with blue cheese. My ex-colleague didn’t like the cheese dip but I like it. I find that the Buffalo Wings tasted so much better with the cheese dip. Somehow the cheese dip enhanced the taste of marinated seasonings in the chicken.

Octopus a la Gallega

The Octopus was surprisingly very tender. It was with only slightly chewiness. Both of us enjoyed this dish.

Tiramisu In A Jar
Tiramisu In A Jar

How could we missed out on desserts? We have Tiramisu in A Jar and Chocolate Lava Cake. We thought that this was one of the best Tiramisu. The sponge cake was moist; soaked with enough of coffee and alcohol. It has all the elements it required to make it excellent.

Chocolate Lava Cake

Comparatively, the Chocolate Lava Cake didn’t fare as well as the Tiramisu. We like the Chocolate Lava Cake but not the ice cream. As we didn’t enjoy the cinnamon taste. The chocolate cake was rich in chocolaty aroma but it was a little dry.

Milagros Spanish Restaurant has a casual dinning  environment. There was a wide selection of tapas. For the menu, click here. The food is not richly infused with seasoning. We enjoyed our dinner and of course the catching up.

26 Tapas Bar At Bugis, Kandahar Street

Today, as I was around Haji Lane, I was given a leaflet above the opening of a new Tapas Bar, known as 26 Tapas Bar. They are generating a grand opening promotion. There are quite a number of good deal.
