Along Tanjong Katong Road, there are already lots of eatery and now there is an addition, Do.main Bakery. A different category to the area, it is a French Bakery, so you can expect to find Crossiant and Croque Monsieur and some French pastries as well.
I was there for lunch at this one week old cafe. The ambience is very much casual with black and white as colours theme. All the food displayed at the counter look extremely delish. There were about six different danish, two types of quiches, about 4 different sandwiches, and some sweet pastries and cakes.
The crew recommended me the sandwich + danish lunch set which comes with a drink with option of tea, coffee or soft drink. It sounds good so I opted for this. It was an easy decision for the Sandwich, I opted for Croque Monsieur while I struggle to decide for the Danish. The warmed service crew recommended the Almond Raisin Danish among the 6 different types.
The Croque Monsieur is on Healthy Rye served with a side Vinaigrette Salad. In the Healthy Rye, it has pumpkin seeds among other ingredients in it. The cheese used in the Croque Monsieur seems to me was Emmental Cheese. It was an awesome sandwich for lunch.
I like Do.main danish very much as it isn’t the extremely flaky and crispy kind but a good balance of flaky and crispy outer layer of the Danish and soft bread like but firmer texture in the centre. It has a good centre of almond and the raisin added a fruity taste to the Danish and that was awesome.
For the drink, I chose Earl Grey tea. They are using Gyphon Tea in the cafe.
Before I left, I actually got a Quiche Lorraine home to try but as I was visiting my aunt, impromptu decision as she leaves nearby, I left it for my cousin. The food offered in Do.main Bakery is too good not to go back for more. I am eyeing on their Quiche and the Eclairs.
